WHY CAN’T I MAKE PAYMENT THRU GCASH?
• Payments through GCash must be made at least 48 hours before the due date. If you can't process the payment, it's already past due.
• If your bill isn't due yet (e.g., two days or more before the due date) and you can't make a payment through GCash, it means your bill isn't available. Try again at a later time.
WHO OWNS THE KILOWATT-HOUR METER?
• The electric cooperative owns the meter. According to the Magna Carta for Residential Electricity Consumers, Article 8, consumers are exempt from paying meter deposits because private distribution utilities have included the cost of these meters in their rates.
WHY DO WE NEED TO PAY A BILL DEPOSIT?
• The bill deposit ensures payment if a consumer leaves the area without notifying the electric cooperative. It does not guarantee continued service if there are unpaid bills.
WHEN IS SOCOTECO II NOT ALLOWED TO DISCONNECT SERVICE?
• Service will not be disconnected on weekdays after 3:00 PM, on Saturdays, Sundays, or official holidays. Disconnections also cannot be made during a funeral wake of a permanent resident, as long as they provide a true copy of the death certificate.
Additionally, if a permanent resident depends on a life-support system that requires electricity, disconnection will not occur for up to two months, provided a medical certificate is presented.
WILL MY SERVICE BE RECONNECTED IMMEDIATELY ONCE I PAY THE RECONNECTION FEE?
• Once you apply for reconnection and pay your full bill along with the PhP50.00 reconnection fee, SOCOTECO II will do its best to reconnect your electricity within 24 hours.
WILL MY SERVICE BE DISCONNECTED IF I DON’T PAY MY BILLS ON TIME?
• No. If you don't pay your electricity bill, you'll receive a written notice giving you 48 hours to settle the account before disconnection.
WHEN DO I NEED TO PAY MY BILLS?
• You need to pay your regular monthly bill within 9 days after you receive it.
