SOCOTECO II Successfully Holds Integration of Balanced Scorecard and Performance Evaluation System Workshop
SOCOTECO II recently hosted a highly insightful Integration of Balanced Scorecard and Performance Evaluation System Workshop on February 18-19, 2025 (for the first batch) and February 20-21, 2025 (for the second batch) at Venue 88 Dome 3, Mabuhay Road, Brgy. San Isidro, General Santos City.
The two-day workshop aimed at equipping our team with effective strategies to align organizational goals with performance metrics, enhancing both personal and company-wide growth.
We were honored to have industry experts, Ms. Cherie Joyce C. Garcia and Mr. Gilbert C. Carlos, Trainer-OMDD-IDD of the National Electrification Administration, lead the sessions. Their in-depth knowledge and hands-on approach provided valuable insights into performance evaluation and the integration of the Balanced Scorecard into our operational processes.
The event was an excellent opportunity for collaboration and learning, strengthening our commitment to continuous improvement.

RURAL ELECTRIFICATION APPRECIATION PROGRAM (R.E.A.P) CONDUCTED BY SOCOTECO II
In an effort to promote awareness and deepen understanding of rural electrification, the South Cotabato II Electric Cooperative (SOCOTECO II) successfully conducted its Rural Electrification Appreciation Program (REAP) on November 27-28, 2024.
The event was organized in two batches: the first batch for senior high school participants, and the second batch for students from STI College.
The activity aimed to provide participants with insights into the role of electric cooperatives in improving the quality of life in rural communities, as well as to showcase the various programs and initiatives focused on rural electrification.
Through this program, SOCOTECO II hoped to inspire the younger generation to become more involved in the energy sector and contribute to the ongoing development of rural areas.
The program featured informative sessions led by Mr. Daniel Teroรฑez Jr.,Member Services Supervisor, provided an in-depth discussion on the basics of SOCOTECO II.
On the other hand, Engr. Bernadine Garayanala, Meter Lab Specialist, shared valuable knowledge on the importance of electricity meters and how they work, while Engr. Adrian Berroya, Construction and Design Supervisor, highlighted SOCOTECO IIโs Sitio Electrification Program and its impact on local communities.
In the afternoon, participants had the unique opportunity to visit two key energy facilities: PeakPower Soccsargen Inc. and the SOCOTECO II Solar Farm, both located at the SOCOTECO II Compound in Brgy. Apopong.
The tour provided a closer look at the infrastructure and technologies that support reliable power supply in the region. It also underscored SOCOTECO IIโs commitment to embracing sustainable energy solutions, including solar power, in its ongoing efforts to serve remote communities.
The Rural Electrification Appreciation Program was a successful initiative that not only educated students about the importance of electrification in rural development but also encouraged them to actively engage in energy solutions that will shape the future.
SOCOTECO II continues to strengthen its role in advancing sustainable and accessible power services, ensuring that rural areas benefit from the same quality of service as urban centers.

On May 18, 2024, South Cotabato II Electric Cooperative Incorporated successfully held its Annual Members Assembly (AGMA) at the Solidarity Gymnasium in Brgy. Apopong, General Santos City. The event saw a great turnout, with our member-consumers participating both in person and through the online platform via the cooperative's official Facebook page.
We were honored to have two esteemed guests join us: Hon. Antonio Mariano C. Almeda, the National Electrification Administration Administrator, who expressed his appreciation for the Board of Directors and management's tireless efforts in bringing electricity to its member-consumer-owners and assured the cooperative of his support.
Administrator urged the leadership of SOCOTECO II to explore innovative solutions, highlight their best practices, and continue to be an instrument of progress for their community.
Additionally, ERC Commissioner, Atty. Alexis Lumbatan provided valuable insights on the role of the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) in overseeing capital expenditures projects to further enhance the cooperativeโs services.

On January 24, 2025, SOCOTECO II kicked off its Employee Vaccination Program in collaboration with the Malungon Rural Health Unit (RHU), administering flu vaccines to SOCOTECO II staff as part of a proactive approach to ensure the health and well-being of employees. The first batch of vaccinations was successfully carried out, with the second batch scheduled for January 28, 2025.
The primary purpose of this initiative is to protect SOCOTECO II employees from the seasonal flu, reducing the risk of illness that could disrupt operations. By partnering with Malungon RHU, the cooperative ensures that its workforce remains healthy and able to continue delivering quality service to the community.

In a milestone event, SOCOTECO II and Malapatan community celebrated today the blessing and energization of the new 5MVA substation located in Brgy. Tuyan, Malapatan, Sarangani Province. The facility is set to provide a stable and reliable power supply, supporting the townโs development and enhancing the quality of life for its member-consumer-owners.
The event was attended by Malapatan Municipal Mayor, Hon. Salway D. Sumbo Jr; Vice-Mayor Hon. Jean Delos Santos, Brgy. Tuyan Captain Hon. Ritchel T. Rabor, Sanggunian Bayan Members, Barangay LGU, SOCOTECO Board of Directors headed by BOD Pres. Engr. Aniceto G. Baculna Jr., SOCOTECO II Employees headed by GM Geronimo D. A comprehensive Standard First Aid Training, including Basic Life Support (BLS), Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) operations, is currently being held at the SOCOTECO II Seminar Hall. A seminar on Restricted Radiotelephone Operators for Land Mobile Use was conducted today at the SOCOTECO II Seminar Hall, General Santos City.
The event brought together 205 participants in two sessions, including employees from SOCOTECO II, OSD Multi-Purpose Cooperative (OSDPMC), Exodus Security Agency, and members of Kabalikat Civicom.
The seminar was led by experts from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), with Engineer John Paul Dap-og and Engineer Louie Jayson Flores serving as the primary speakers. The session also saw the presence of NTC Regional Director Engineer Froilan Jamias, further emphasizing the importance of the event.
This seminar aimed to enhance the participants' understanding of proper radiotelephone operations for land mobile use, which is crucial in ensuring efficient communication, safety, and compliance within their respective organizations.

General Santos City, August 22, 2024 โ In a united effort to give back to the environment and foster community collaboration, SOCOTECO II spearheaded a Mangrove Tree Planting activity today at the Shariff Mucsin Mangrove Sanctuary, Barangay Baluan, General Santos City. This initiative was part of the organizationโs participation in the 15th National Electrification Awareness Month (NEAM).
The event, which saw the active participation of SOCOTECO II employees, the OSD Multi-Purpose Cooperative, the SOCOTECO II Employees Multi-Purpose Cooperative, and members of the local community, was a resounding success. A total of 100 bakawan propagules were planted during the activity, reinforcing the sanctuaryโs ecosystem and contributing to the long-term preservation of the areaโs coastal environment.
Mangroves play a critical role in maintaining coastal biodiversity, acting as nurseries for various marine species and providing protection against coastal erosion. The Shariff Mucsin Mangrove Sanctuary is home to a diverse range of mangrove species, and todayโs planting activity aims to further enrich this vital habitat.

SOCOTECO II CONDUCTS ELECTRIC SAFETY CHECKS AT MALUNGON SCHOOLS, DONATES SNACKS AND SLIPPERS
SOCOTECO II recently conducted electric safety checks at two schools in Malungon, Sarangani, as part of the annual Brigada Eskwela - Electric Check initiative.
On November 11, the team inspected Balitangan Elementary School, followed by Colombio Integrated School on November 12, 2024.
SOCOTECO II linemen checked the schools' electrical wiring and replaced any unsafe connections to ensure the safety of the students and staff. The initiative aimed to eliminate potential electrical hazards and provide a safe learning environment for the children.
In addition to the safety checks, SOCOTECO II Malungon Director Evelyn Villarreal personally visited both schools to donate snacks and slippers to the students. The donations were warmly received, with students expressing their gratitude for the thoughtful gesture.
"This is our way of showing support for the students and ensuring that their learning environment is safe and comfortable," said Director Villarreal.

The shores of Dadiangas South Bay in Barangay Dadiangas South were teeming with activity today as SOCOTECO II Employees, OSDMPC Employees and the Barangay LGU gathered for a Coastal Clean-Up Drive aimed at preserving the local environment. This initiative resulted in the collection of 45 sacks of garbage.
This coastal clean up drive is also part of the celebration of the 15th National Electrification Awareness Month (NEAM).
